Shelly is a native of Charlottesville, VA and has worked as a therapist with The Women’s Initiative for four years.

I hold a Masters degree in Social Work from VCU and a Bachelors degree from the University of Virginia. In my current position, I strive to empower women in their healing journey to reach their full potential and an overall sense of well-being. And as co-coordinator of the agency’s Sister Circle Programming, I provide safe spaces for Black women and women of color to access culturally responsive mental health and wellness care. I am also on the Steering Committee of the Central Virginia Clinicians of Color Network (CVCCN).
