Shelly is a native of Charlottesville, VA and has worked as a therapist with The Women’s Initiative for four years.
Shelly holds a Masters degree in Social Work from VCU and a Bachelors degree from the University of Virginia. In her current position, she strives to empower women in their healing journey to reach their full potential and an overall sense of well-being. Additionally, as co-coordinator of the agency’s Sister Circle Programming, she provides safe spaces for Black women and women of color to access culturally responsive mental health and wellness care. She is also on the Steering Committee of the Central Virginia Clinicians of Color Network (CVCCN).
